It is understood that the club, while not actively looking to sell the Welsh international, are open to letting Johnson leave in the event of a suitable bid.
Crystal Palace are currently the team furthest along in their pursuit for Johnson, but other teams are said to be monitoring his situation closely.
Last Campaign of Mixed Fortunes
Johnson was Tottenham's leading top-flight scorer last season with 11 strikes, and secured his place in club history by netting the decisive goal in their European final triumph against United last season, bringing to a close the club's seventeen-year wait for a trophy.
However, the departure of the previous manager and appointment of Thomas Frank has meant Johnson playing more of a bit-part role in the current campaign.
The 24-year-old, has made only six Premier League starting appearances under Frank.

As a result, a host of clubs have been alerted to his possible departure ahead of the January transfer window.
Given his reduced minutes and the looming possibility of a World Cup approaching with Wales, a transfer elsewhere from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could benefit Johnson next month.
The attacker moved to Spurs from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the summer of 2023 and has scored 27 goals for the club.
