Liverpool's Star Offers Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has refused to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
Jones insisted that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
The midfielder also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
