Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
